Important information for all Air Canada customers
Effective June 14, 2011 over 3,800 Air Canada call centre and customer service agents at 9 Canadian airports are on strike. Please take note, however, that Air Canada's full flight schedule will remain in operation during the strike. To avoid longer queues at airport check-in kiosks, and to expedite airport processes, you are urged to do the following:
Airport: Arrive early at the airport, as line-ups may be long. Please be patient.
Baggage: If at all possible, avoid travelling with checked baggage. Use carry-ons. If you are checking baggage, use the self-tagging kiosk to print your baggage tags.
Check-In: Check in online from your home, office, or mobile device within 24-hours of departure. Print your boarding pass in advance, or use an electronic boarding pass on your mobile device. Otherwise, check-in using the self-serve airport kiosk.
The labour disruption affects Call Centres as well as check-in and gate operations for Air Canada flights at nine airports in Canada: Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, St-John’s, Toronto Pearson, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Check-in and airport services in all other Canadian stations as well as international and United States airports are not impacted.
